When you go to download it though make sure you are connected via WIFI connection to avoid a lot of the headaches. No issues lately, it would lock up periodically before. They have updated it 3 times since I purchased it back in Feb and its remarkably better now. I have used it ice fishing, in the car on the way to the lake to get a gameplan and while driving around on the atv or boat.

The accuracy is pretty decent, but since my phone only goes to 2 decimal places on the GPS, I think its not quite as accurate, but still good enough to get you close. richg99 Posts: 5083 Joined:, 14:36 10 Location: Houston, TX & Crossville, TN. This is general talk about anything not related to boating/fishing. Talk about anything that floats your boat (no pun intended). The app works great! I love having it alongside my HDS 7 with Lakemaster chip to compare. For anyone using the Navionics phone app. I am perfectly fine with people marking things the other way. Save them as "favorites" and only you can see them. Other than that, this app is amazing - the only app I actually paid money for. There is a way to turn this off but I haven't looked into it. too, if It's running the new Port Service system from Navionics. One thing I don't like is that if you save waypoints on it, everyone else who has the app can see them too. A half it tolerated many sunscreen-greased finBelow the phone's number keypad. Other forums have a lot of good things said about it too. I have it too and everything the OP said is true. The only downside is that phones are a little smaller so it is probably a little more difficult to use than an on board mounted GPS. Thankfully I have the spot saved and can find it again with just a push of a button.

I found structure on Lida using the app I had never fished before, and never really knew existed. Not sure what the cost of an on board GPS unit is but the navionics app was only $14.00 and I can already say that it's well worth the money. It was used out on Lida this past weekend and I'm honestly amazed. Navionics now offers multi-lingual Live Chat with Customer Service directly through any computer or mobile device. You must be logged in to reply to this topic. For the months of May, June and July, Customer Service support will be available during the weekends with Live Chat and to respond to emails. That has all the HD 1ft contour maps if they are available for that lake. Just make sure you toggle to sonar charts on the little wi-fi looking like button on the app. And yes the maps on the phone and chip are the same. You can mark way points, track areas/paths you have covered, set favorite locations and many other things I have yet to figure out. You can also go to and compare the two different maps. It has 100's if not 1000's of lakes from the area pre-loaded on it showing depths, contours, coordinates of where you are on the lake, etc. I stumbled across this navionics app that is basically the same as an on board GPS. I recently purchased a smart phone and looked into some apps that I could use out on the boat.
